From the High Street through the pedestrian area, Swan Bank, and Mill Street, the streets will be packed with top-quality artisan food stalls, mouth-watering global street food, craft beers, artisan spirits, refreshing fruit juices, indulgent milkshakes, and irresistible handcrafted cakes, pies, pasties, and cheeses.
Whether you’re a foodie, a craft beer lover, or just looking for a fantastic day out, this is the place to be! Come hungry, leave happy, and experience the best local flavours and global delights all in one place.
Congleton Town Council and Congleton Partnership host an annual Green Festival, usually at the end of September.
The High Street will be transformed into a vibrant hub of more than 30 stalls, all offering ideas, products, and services to help you live more sustainably. From eco-friendly organisations and local businesses to hands-on experiences in the Repair Café and the Big Clothes Movement inside the Town Hall, there’s something for everyone. Come along, get inspired, and discover simple ways to make a big difference for our community and our planet.
Congleton turns out in force for the popular Christmas Lights Switch-On, usually held on the last week in November.
With High Street, Mill Street and Swan Bank closed to traffic, entertainment starts at 4 pm, ready for the big switch on at 6 pm. The evening is packed full of free entertainment and lots of Christmas cheer for the whole family.
Visit Santa in his grotto, shop for great Christmas gifts from the craft stalls and support the local community groups. Winter warmers and festive tipples are available from the food and drink vendors.
The traditional lantern parade gathers at 5.20 pm at the bottom of Mill Street. Entertainment on the main stage includes a varied lineup. If you can spare an hour or two to help steward on the evening, we would love to hear from you.
