Calling all green-fingered and handy volunteers! Congleton
In Bloom supported by Plastic Free Congleton and Friends of Congleton Park host
their first town tidy of 2020 on Saturday 7th March. Meeting in
Congleton Park from 10am-12noon, there is a variety of activities to join in
with.

Volunteers can do as little or as much as they want during
this time, some of the activities include: cleaning bins, benches, lighting
columns, railings, signs and fountains, removing debris from around the benches
and bins, installing no dog fouling signs and posters in appropriate, and
visible places, litter picking and weeding.

Those joining in are advised to wear clothing appropriate to
anticipated weather conditions and sensible footwear. Everything else; Hi-Viz
vests, litter pickers, sacks, gloves and all equipment will be provided. The
Congleton In Bloom team are trying to get as many members of the public to help
clean up as possible.

Congleton Town Tidy Champion Glen Williams said “The
Congleton In Bloom team look forward to welcoming new and existing volunteers and
working with both Friends of Congleton Park and the Plastic Free Congleton
group. We have decided that Congleton Park is a great open space with
opportunity for volunteers to work in the park, but it also gives a chance to
work further afield outside of the park, weeding and litter picking the
entrances in. Congleton In Bloom encourages community involvement and this
session is a great way to help clean-up our town and meet new people at the
same time!”
