Congleton Town Centre is the place to be from 5-8pm on Thursday 6th December. Many of the shops in the town centre are staying open late and with special Christmas treats in store to celebrate Christmas with local people.
The late night evening has been led by staff from Foundations of Congleton, who have taken part in a similar event in Nantwich for the past few years. Kate Hinton from Foundations said: “Christmas is a really important time for local shops. We have some great shops in Congleton and many hard working families that can’t get in to visit us during the day. We thought it would be a bit of fun to stay open late and offer a more relaxed time for customers to come into town and have a good browse and pick up some presents.”
To get shoppers in the festive mood Rode Hall Silver Band will be in town playing Christmas tunes in the pedestrian area and many of the talented Can’t Sing Choir are also joining in the occasion. It is hoped that this will become an annual event.
