Congleton Town Council is proud to report on the outstanding success of the 2025 NSPCC Congleton Toy Appeal, which has once again demonstrated the kindness and generosity of the local community. The response from residents was described by organisers as overwhelming, with donations exceeding expectations and reflecting the town’s strong community spirit.

This year’s appeal supported 203 children from 81 families, with over 600 toys donated. Children who were placed in emergency care during the festive period also benefitted, ensuring that some of the most vulnerable young people in the town received comfort and joy at Christmas.

Congleton Town Mayor, Cllr Robert Brittain, said: “The generosity shown by the people of Congleton has been truly heart-warming. Time and again, our community comes together to support families who are facing difficult circumstances. These donations are more than toys – they bring joy, reassurance and a sense of being cared for. On behalf of the Town Council, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this appeal such a success.”

The Town Council extends its sincere thanks to all partner drop-off points, including Boots on Barn Road, Congleton Chronicle, and Plus Dane Housing, whose support was essential to the smooth running of the appeal. Plus Dane played a central role in coordinating the appeal. Their offices were transformed into what can only be described as “a Santa’s grotto,” as staff worked to match donated toys to family referrals and manage the distribution process. Their local knowledge and frontline connections ensured that donations reached all families across Congleton who needed them most.

Special recognition goes to Rotary Congleton, who donated £1,000 to the appeal. This funding was used to purchase additional toys from The Toy Barn at Glebe Farm, supporting a local business while helping to ensure a wide range of gifts for children of all ages. The congregation at North Rode Church, made a significant donation of toys following a special service held in support of the appeal.

The Congleton NSPCC Toy Appeal has been running successfully for over ten years, with Congleton Town Council proud to be a long-standing partner. The appeal relies on strong local partnerships and the continued generosity of residents, proving year after year that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.

Congleton Town Council thanks everyone who donated, volunteered, shared information, or supported the appeal in any way. Helping to bring festive cheer to hundreds of children across Congleton.
