The Spring Bank Holiday weekend at the end of May sees
Congleton Paddling Pool open for the Summer Season. The much loved paddling
pool on Park Road will open on Saturday 25th May from 10am-6pm and
remain open, weather permitting, every day until Sunday 8th
September.

The paddling pool is a free facility run and managed by
Congleton Town Council for the benefit of local people. The facility is
designed for children aged 11 years and under and all children must be
accompanied by an adult.

A paddling pool attendant will be on duty at all times
and should be contacted if a key is needed to access the toilet or first aid
box, or for any concerns should they arise. For safety reasons, users are asked
not to take food and drink into the water and to make sure that all litter is
put in the bins, as this can cause problems with the filters. Bikes, dogs,
glass, smoking, vaping and alcohol are not allowed at the pool vicinity.

If you are driving to the facility, users are reminded to
be respectful of local residents and to remember that Daneside Theatre car park
is a private car park and cannot be used for the pool. Town Centre car parks
are just a short walk from the pool and park.

In 2018 a new 300 person limit was applied to the
paddling pool, which will be carried through into 2019. This is for the health,
safety and comfort of users. This means that on exceptionally hot summer days,
a one in, one out policy may be adopted to control numbers.

Town Hall Manager at Congleton Town Council, Mark
Worthington said “The Paddling Pool is a great facility and we hope that the
2019 summer season will be just as successful and enjoyed by many. We ask all
users to remain respectful of the 300 limit rule and other users of the pool,
as well as the residents and businesses in the surrounding area.”
