Join in the celebrations for Congleton War Memorial 100th Anniversary.
This free entry event promises a vibrant mix of activities that will transport people back to the Roaring Twenties. Highlights include:
Established in 1924 and opened by HRH Duke of York (later King George VI), the hospital holds a significant place in the town's history. East Cheshire NHS Trust encourages local residents to contribute their cherished memories of the hospital to an online portal. There will be designated Blue Badge parking on Hankinson’s field, off Park Road, follow the big blue signs.
In addition to town centre car parks, free event parking is available on Siemens, Jackson Road and Beresford’s, off Willow Street (opp St Stephen’s Church).
The town council are encouraging residents to walk to the park if they can as surrounding roads and car parks will be extremely busy.
There is a permanent disabled toilet facility in the park by the Pavilion, there will also be Port-a-loos by the bowling green in the park.
Please note that the park has a hard standing perimeter path all the way round but most of the events will take place on the main field which could be soft depending on the weather.
Please help us look after our beautiful park, there will be plenty of bins around the park to place litter in or please take it home!
