Community groups and organisations in Congleton and the surrounding area are invited to apply for support from the Margaret Williamson Memorial Fund.

Established in Margaret’s memory, the fund continues her legacy of championing Congleton’s cultural life, environmental improvement and educational opportunity. Margaret was a passionate advocate for the town and played a key role in shaping initiatives that strengthened both its community spirit and natural surroundings.

This year the fund will support around £2,000 worth of projects and applications. The deadline for applications is Monday 9 March 2026. The Trustees are particularly keen to hear from projects with a cultural, environmental or educational focus. This includes initiatives that encourage participation in the arts, promote understanding and enjoyment of the natural environment, or help conserve and enhance local green spaces. Projects that inspire young people and foster community involvement are especially welcomed.

Applications are open to projects based within the Congleton and District area (CW12 postcode or 01260 dialling code). Application forms can be downloaded from:
www.congletonpartnership.co.uk/project/margaret-williamson-memorial. Paper copies are also available from Congleton Information Centre at the Town Hall.

Individuals, businesses and organisations who wish to contribute to the ongoing work of the Fund are also welcome to get in touch via Congleton Partnership. Contact: Cathy.Dean@congleton-tc.gov.uk or tel: 01260 270350 ext 7.

The Trustees will review applications in the spring, with successful projects receiving support shortly afterwards.
