Astbury Mere Country Park is a beautiful attraction, thanks to the hard work of the local trust. The Country Park and Visitors Centre attracts over 140,000 visitors a year. The 14-acre site features a 3km all-weather path around the Mere, open spaces, extensive woodlands, and a wildflower meadow.

Admission is free of charge; car park fees apply.

The Country Park is open from 9:00 until dusk every day of the year, except Christmas Day.

Home of Congleton Park Run, every Saturday at 9 am.

Astbury Water Sports Centre is the location in Congleton offering various water sports from canoeing and kayaking to sailing and raft building.

Stoke-on-Trent Anglers – Astbury Mere is the Society’s only owned water, having been purchased in 2002. The water is a shared amenity with a sailing club who hold a lease with Stoke-on-Trent Angling Society.

Accessibility

The lakeside path around Astbury Mere is suitable for pushchairs and independent wheelchairs.  

There is seating every 100m along the path. 

Allow about 40 minutes to walk the circular route around the mere.
